Plastic is not the enemy.
When we speak today of plastic or plastic-made products, it sometimes seems that we are dealing with the enemy, but the truth is thanks to plastic there have been huge advances in hygiene, and food management in general. It would be impossible to live without plastic nowadays. In any case, the final life span of plastic must indeed be well managed. This is the pending subject we have so that we do not continue to pollute the environment when we dispose of plastic products incorrectly.
Recyclable products
Many of Multisac’s products are made of Polypropylene (PP) containing in some cases polyethylene elements, usually low-density polyethylene (LDPE), and are therefore recyclable.
- Polypropylene is a low-density thermoplastic obtained from the polymerization of propylene.
- Polyethylene is chemically the simplest polymer and is obtained from the polymerization of ethylene.
- Both PP and LDPE are 100% recyclable, either as industrial scrap or as post-consumer residue.
- Products made of PP and LDPE can incorporate this label, notifying their recyclability:
- In the case of recycling, products made with Polypropylene should be deposited in a plastic container, normally yellow.
- For the most effective recycling of Polypropylene Bags and Big Bags, they must be completely emptied and deposited in the recycling containers or delivered to the recovery points, avoiding added substances or residues of their contents.
- PP contains energy of the same magnitude as fossil fuels. PP waste is an excellent alternative to be used as fuel to produce electricity and heat.
Thus, Multisac can state that products made of Polypropylene and Polyethylene pellets have 100% recyclability.
This applies to material exiting the production facilities and does not include any substances added later.
The cost of not recycling!
Not recycling turns us into enemies. No further comments…
