Big Bags and Small Bags for Asphalt or Bitumen… not an easy matter

A suitable way to transport “small” quantities of Asphalt or Bitumen is using Big Bags, but this is not an easy task.

Asphalt and bitumen are handleable in a semi-liquid form when very hot, but standard Big Bags cannot withstand such high temperatures without melting.

So that the Big Bag does not melt, special liners are used that withstand higher temperatures, but even so, the Asphalt must be at a temperature high enough to be able to flow, but low enough so as not to melt the liner or the Bag itself.

Once the Big Bag is filled, the Asphalt solidifies and is transported as if it were a block… in reality it is, and the only way to “recover” the Asphalt or Bitumen is to melt the entire assembly again or crack and separate the Big Bag when possible.

In any case, finding the right Big Bag to transport Asphalt and Bitumen can only be entrusted to a company like Multisac, with more than 80 years of experience in the sector. We look forward to your inquiries.
